  1. Ooh, I don’t know,but if you find out let me know. I have a few books on tape, and I adore them.

    However, I don’t have a tape player anymore, which makes them pretty useless.

    I do (I think) have a copy of Lord of the Rings in mp3 format. A bit long, and I’m not sure where the CD’s are, but if you’d like me to dig ’em up… 🙂

  2. Usenet: alt.binaries.audiobooks or one of those similar groups. You’ve gotta wait for them to be posted, but there are tonnes there. And, of course you need a newsreader, like Free Agent, and a ISP that provides access to newsgroups and doesn’t mind you downloading 500MB a day. But, yeah…

  3. I would suggest using bit torrent. I know a bunch of people who use it for stuff like that. I’m not sure how big the selection is, though, and it might be on the geeky side.

  4. i figured out how to use bittorrent and newsgroups in the past year or so… i just have no idea where to *find* the actual files.
