I want to hear about the running. What program are you following? I'm pretending to follow Couch to 5km but I'm supposed to run three times a week and I'm lucky if I run once. :)

Derek: that's not sad, not sad at all! I got pretty self-conscious about what I was writing for a while (mean people suck - though at least hatemail is a sign you've "made it"), but I've a)come to terms with it and b) gotten over myself, so I may just adopt your strategy of "whatever comes to mind." And thanks for the well-wishes!

Darren/Mark: A couple of tradeshows we're exhibiting at. I have the final interivew for my Nexus pass two days before I leave for the first one, so I'm hoping it'll save me a lot of hassle.

jen: so far, so good! I think I'm going to write about that next!

andrea: le eep. that scares me almost as much as "builder's cost-overruns." our sale agreement is such that they don't have to give us an official completion/occupancy date until 30 days before - then if they go over that 30 days they owe us $1000/week. I just hope we're in before Christmas.

From my experience with the... blue plastic (and hopefully you don't have my experience) - it's going to take a lot longer than you think from the ripping of the blue plastic to moving in. My condo was rid of plastic and then another few months before I could move in. They had issues with "easement" or something and then another thing, and my move in date was pretty much the last week where the 6 month grace was up (from official completion date they give you when they first start building)

So... i don't know when your completion date was, but I hope you get to move in sooner than I did.

Oh so you're going to New York too? Rock on, I'll see you there. :)

What kind of drama do you mean, Darren? I regularly cross-over (although from the south) with my Canadian passport, and practically get preferential treatment. half the time I get n/c stamps and half the time I auto-get H1B stamps.

How's the running going? I've recently started again, after having hung up my runners for a few years. :)

I assume you're going to the States for tradeshows or industry events? Do you ever suffer any drama when crossing the border?

I remember the endless wait for the occupancy permit well. They're always late, but it's still fairly torturous.

I was going to opine about what I do when I haven't written on my blog for awhile, but then I realized with some geeky embarrassment that it has *never happened*.

Even when I was in the hospital for almost a month this summer, I only managed an eleven-day gap, and that was when I had surgical complications that had me plugged into three or four separate IVs and prevented me from *eating or drinking* for most of that time.

I am a sad little man.

Anyway, my suggestion is don't stress about it, just write whatever comes to mind. Works for me. Good luck with the new digs, upcoming nuptials, and big travel businessy stuff.
