HI, I AM FINALLY, AFTER DECADES OF WISHING, GETTING A TATTOO. BECAUSE I AM FOREVER LOSING JEWELLERY, [BRACELETS ESPECIALLY], I AM GETTING A 'BRACELET' OF FORGET ME NOTS ON MY WRIST! LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING IT DONE.
TRAMP STAMP? WHO CARES WHAT PEOPLE CALL IT.....WHAT MATTERS ISN'T WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS THE TRUTH IS, ITS WHAT YOU KNOW TO BE TRUE.
BE TRUE TO YOURSELF GIRLS! THATS WHAT MATTERS.

You have to think....if you do get a tattoo, you will have it forever. I know that you can have them removed..but think of it as a permanent decision. I have tattoo's, one on each arm. That is another place to consider. Coverable and show-offable. This is something to do for you, no one else. Sure, I considered what it would look like when I get old and become a tattooed grandma...but there are going to be alot of tattooed grandma's in our generation. Do it for you. Do what you want.

I am the mother of a 25 year old girl who received a lower back tatoo last year. She chose a celtic symbol as a tribute to her Irish heritage. She does not see it as a sexual "stamp". She just feels it celebrates her individuality and culture. It's unfortunate that some people stereotype every girl. That's dumb!

WARNING!! The language you use ("the idea still doesn't repulse me") makes me think: DON'T GET A TATTOO. I have large tattoos all over my body. I love them. I can't wait to get another one. I get so excited every time. If they merely don't repulse you, keep thinking on it. Also, if you are worried AT ALL about someone calling you a tramp, or calling you anything because you have a tattoo, THIS ISN'T FOR YOU. And if you're asking advice from strangers about where to get it, DON'T GET ONE. You should be going into this experience with great confidence and joy, not with misgivings and advice from strangers. Including me.

I vote for the shoulder as well. But then I'm a bit of a shoulder man.

I've never heard the term "tramp stamp", but the lower back tattoo does seem to be ubiquitous among the young ladies (often accompanied by a 'whale tail'--visible thong).

Embrace your inner tramp! I believe these are very personal decision and if this is the spot that moves you then go for it!
