(I wanted to write this yesterday, but was afraid I’d jinx myself…)
After the great Patch Calamity of 2005, I decided to try a different contraception product – the Nuva Ring.
You can figure out how it works by checking the website, but the pertinent piece of information here is that you wear the ring for 3 weeks, and remove it for 1 week – same as the 3 week cycle of a 21-day birth control pill.
I’m on the off week. I wore very light beige Khakis. I carried no protection. Women everywhere are cringing.
However, my doctor mentioned that since going off of Depo Provera, my cycles likely won’t return for at least 3 months. And sure, I managed to get through the day without a Junior High Cosmo Girl Confessional moment of embarrassment, but I was still panic stricken every time I felt my uterus go “twinge.”
Today I’m wearing dark blue jeans. I feel much safer.
