No, not that kind of funk. I woke up in a funk. Just a strange, cranky, dissatisfied mood. I hate these days.

Jen, your subconscious mind is driven most by Kindness
You have a deep desire to be kind and fair to others. You are preoccupied with finding kindness in the world around you, far more than you may realize on a conscious level. This makes you unusually empathetic and very sensitive to other people’s feelings.
Your kind nature makes you an optimist at heart and allows you to see the best in the people around you. Because you’re not judgmental, others seek you out when they need a friend.

1. What housekeeping chore(s) do you hate doing the most?
I hate folding laundry. Probably because I’m usually also doing other household tasks at the same time, and I’m all hot and sweaty and dirty feeling. While that’s going on, there’s nothing worse than drowning in a pile of hot material straight outta the dryer. And it has to be folded straight out of the dryer so it doesn’t wrinkle.
2. Are there any that you like or don’t mind doing?
Anything other than folding laundry is pretty much fair game. There’s nothing else that I particularly mind doing. A sortof peeve is when cleaning is left far too long, and it gets to be unmanageable and feels like a chore and takes an entire day to tackle.
3. Do you have a routine throughout the week or just clean as it’s needed?
I’m trying to build up a routine, but it’s not exactly working so far. Other than that, I try to clean up a little bit of something whenever I have time so that it doesn’t get out of control.
4. Do you have any odd cleaning/housekeeping quirks or rules?
I HATE CLUTTER. I can’t stress this enough. Everything has a place. When you’re done with it, put it back there. That and a half-assed job. If anything’s worth doing, it’s worth doing properly. A whirlwind job that results in shifting the mess from a visible place to somewhere more hidden (a closet, drawer, under the bed) is just not acceptable.
5. What was the last thing you cleaned?
Right now I’m doing floors. In fact, I just paused because I did the dumbest thing ever and thought this week’s Friday Five would be a perfect place to share it…
My vacuum sucks. It’s ancient, and was having some problems. Back in April I had my dad fix it (it used to be my parents’) and got it back later that month. Since April, I have been using this thing to vacuum my 900sq. ft. apartment 2-4 times per month. It’s been losing sucking power more and more since I got it back, so I figured the bag might be full. I opened it up to check it - THERE WAS NO BAG! Kindof makes sense, since I have all of them here - why would he have put a new bag in when he didn’t have any? So now I’ve managed to accrue nearly 6 months of dust and dirt directly into the bag-holding area. What a mess. Thankfully there’s a dust-buster here too, so I was able to suck most of the mess out of there, and put a new bag in. The thing works like a charm now. Man I feel dumb.
I was supposed to go to a farewell gathering tonight. Unfortunately, the person in whose honour we were going to get drunk is ill, so the party was cancelled. Quite disappointing.
Until I had a chance to go home and catch my breath. Now I can say I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to be home, alone, doing nothing on a Friday night.
And now, TV and bed.

I finally have a moment to write, and for those of you who wanted to know, after 10 days of complete and utter bullshit, my mom’s resting comfortably at home.
Unfortunately, she had to endure those 10 days of complete and utter bullshit. I am now deathly afraid of getting sick (pun fully intended). I’ll outline a chronicle of those 10 days so you can see for yourselves what we’re paying doctors and nurses ridiculous salaries for:
(a warning folks, this is long)
yah i’m still here, just too tired to update. i’ll try to get something down by the end of the week for all you die-hard readers.
